Bringing Services to Communities Child, Youth and Family Centres
Robin, 6, is one of many young children living in the Western Communities. He had difficulty walking because of cerebral palsy and uses a variety of support services. The drive into Victoria to visit the clinic can be an all-day effort for his busy Mom.
The Queen Alexandra Foundation has built two new child, youth and family centres in Sooke and Colwood and is working on a building project in Port Renfrew. Over thirty child and youth agencies are involved in the project - this collaborative approach is helping to make sure that services are accessible, integrated and innovative for the young families in the Western Communities.
