The Queen Alexandra Foundation recognizes its obligation to respect and protect the privacy of our donors and website visitors. All personal information provided online is secure, and we have developed procedures to prevent unauthorized access and to ensure proper use of information. The Foundation complies with federal and provincial privacy legislation and adheres to ethical guidelines established by professional fundraising associations.

The key elements of our privacy policy are as follows:

We do not lend, exchange, rent or sell our donor lists to other organizations.
The personal information you provide when making an online donation or registering for an event will be protected by the Foundation, and will not be disclosed to any third parties.
The Foundation may gather data concerning traffic on the website for statistical analysis. This data is not linked to your personal information, and is used strictly to improve content of the site.
When you make a donation online, a secure connection with an SSL secure socket layer is established and your information is encrypted to prevent interception during the transaction. The secure connection is maintained until the transaction is completed or terminated.
Employees of the Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children who have access to your personally identifiable information in connection with processing donations are required to keep the information confidential. They are not permitted to use this information for any purpose other than to carry out the services they are performing for the Foundation.

Ledger House
Pediatric Mental Health

The Queen Alexandra Foundation supports the Ledger House Mental Health program which provides mental health assessments for children and youth in our community who are desperately in need of this care. Ledger House's impacting work is best described in the words of a former program participant. She recently wrote:

"I had a multitude of problems: drugs, alcohol, depression, a past sexual assault, and an eating disorder. I was admitted to Ledger four times over a year and a half before I managed to sort through it all, but I will always consider myself lucky that I had the option of going there. I learned that Ledger is a safe place, where when you are ready; you can deal with whatever your problems are. With the help of these solid anchors, I was able to realize what I wanted to do with my life … become someone who helps those in need. Whether it will turn into social work, counseling or working with criminals, I am not sure, but I know now what steps to take."
